Sponsor Success Story: Kathrin Müllner

Since many years I have been interested in Tibet — its culture, its people, its language. When I first heard about sponsorships for Tibetan refugees, I was still going to school and therefore I have not been able to support a person. But I always kept in mind. And I knew that I wanted to visit Dharamsala. I thought that I maybe would decide there to take over a sponsorship. And that's the way how it happened. When I came to Dharamsala the first time, I also visited Jampaling Old People's Home and I was so impressed of the old people's kindliness that I suddenly knew: Now's the time to support one of these people.

It's important to support young people. They are Tibet's future. But we should not forget the old ones. They are Tibet's past. They are the ones who know the country, the culture and the stories. Without them this would be lost.

For me the financial support doesn't really hurt, even if I don't have much money. But to the people it means more than only money. It's also mental support and maybe this is much more important. Just to let them know, there is somebody who cares and that there is tribute for their life.
